Our Mission

We recognize that our community, Daphne, is the largest city in Baldwin County and among the fastest growing in the State of Alabama. Our Mission is to support our community and local & county government in the intelligent and balanced planning and management of its growth. Our focus is on preserving our unique quality of life while enhancing both public safety, residential & commercial property values and city services.

Who We Are

Olde Towne Daphne Association is a non-profit corporation. Our members include residents, businesses, private schools and non-profit organizations primarily located in Olde Towne Daphne. Membership is open to anyone residing in Daphne, Alabama. Our OTDA leadership are volunteers supporting our community...our home.

February 27th (Saturday) National Arbor Day, City of Daphne tree give away hosted by the Daphne Beautification Committee and Public Works Department. ! There will be 3,650 trees available free to Daphne residents at this is a popular event starting at 8:00 a.m. at the Village Point Park Preserve at 27727 Main Street (Scenic Hwy 98). Come early for the best selection. Starbucks will be there with coffee, Daphne Utilities will supply donuts, bottled water and class A fertilizer.  Ickes Tree Service will once again provide mulch and the Baldwin County Master Gardeners will assist with planting information. Local Girl Scouts will help at the event and also sell their popular cookies.  Baldwin County animal shelters will bring pets available for adoption.  This is a true community event!

Baldwin County Master Gardeners are offering Spring garden workshops every Tuesday in March for $5 per workshop, click on Our Towne for details about class topics, location and the Spring Native Plant Sale.

Once a week garbage pickup will start the week of April 5th in Olde Towne with our new automated garbage trucks. All residents will be given a 96 gal. rolling can. Residents who have rented cans will no longer be charged a fee. If you wish to have a 64 gal can, you may contact the Department of Public Works, 621-3182 and request the smaller can be delivered.  Click: Do's and Dont's for a pdf brochure about how to handle your new can.

SEEDS had provided 3 documents for local residents to read or respond to regarding a proposed sales tax increase to help fund Baldwin County Schools.  Please take time to read: Information fact sheet, pledge card and Volunteer Form. Make your decision on this and other important issues facing Daphne and Baldwin County.  Vote on March 23rd!

OTDA continues to work on our Daphne walking tour map.  Members continue to make suggestions and we are working with the City of Daphne to mark the map. The history write up is in  progress and we will work with the Eastern Shore Chamber to apply for grant funds to help print this new resource for our community.  It is a work in progress and should be ready this spring!

Work sessions are held the Monday between the two monthly council meetings at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Items discussed will then be brought up for further discussion or vote at Council meetings.
