The Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce and Olde Towne Daphne Association joined again to co-host the 2008 Candidate Forum at the Civic Center on August 5, 2008. Mayoral and Council Candidates participated in this non-partisan event. Candidates answered written questions from the audience as well responding to advance questions. The League of Women Voters reviewed questions for appropriateness and duplication. The Forum was also a designated site for a Voter Registration effort by Baldwin County Registrar.

WELCOME AND INTRODUCTIONS:

COUNCIL CANDIDATES:
Each candidate will be allowed 2 minutes for introductory comments.
Council candidates will be asked the first question and have 1 minute to respond.
In reverse district order, the candidates will be asked a second question and have one minute to respond.
A SHORT BREAK:
A 5 minute break to allow council candidates to leave the stage and mayoral candidates to arrive on stage.
MAYORAL CANDIDATES:
Each Candidate will be allowed 3 minutes for introductory comments.
Each candidate will be asked a minimum of 5 questions and will have 2 minutes to respond.
Candidates will alternate answering questions first.
Each candidate will have 2 minutes for concluding comments.
CLOSING COMMENTS:

In the spirit of a non-partisan event, no signs or campaign material will be displayed prior to the planned program.
However, after the program, each candidate may have representative in the Civic Center foyer and provide campaign
material to the public as they leave the Civic Center. Doors will close promptly at 9:20 p.m.
