February 24th (Wednesday) Volunteer organizational meeting for anyone interesting in working for the proposed increase in sales tax to benefit Baldwin County Schools. 6:30 p.m. Trojan Hall. Contact info@seedsindaphne.org to reserve your place.
February 27th (Saturday) National Arbor Day, City of Daphne tree give away hosted by the Daphne Beautification Committee and Public Works Department. ! There will be 3,650 trees available free to Daphne residents at this is a popular event starting at 8:00 a.m. at the Village Point Park Preserve at 27727 Main Street (Scenic Hwy 98). Come early for the best selection. Starbucks will be there with coffee, Daphne Utilities will supply donuts, bottled water and class A fertilizer. Ickes Tree Service will once again provide mulch and the Baldwin County Master Gardeners will assist with planting information. Local Girl Scouts will help at the event and also sell their popular cookies. Baldwin County animal shelters will bring pets available for adoption. This is a true community event!
March 2nd (Tuesday) First of 5 in a series Master Gardeners Spring Workshops. Click: Master Gardeners for information and classes.
March 3rd (Wednesday) Daphne Utilities Board to host a public forum for proposed rate increase and to hear your thoughts. They will also launch their web-site www.daphneutilities.com with a feature that will customers to see their usage and the impact of the proposed rate.
March 6th (Saturday) 6th Annual SEEDS Classic Rock 5K and Fun Run on Main Street Daphne. For details and to sign up please click on: SEEDS.

Daphne Public Library Open House from 5 to 7 p.m.. Raffle tickets for a quilt can be purchased at the Friend's Book Shop. Come see the new space and see if you won a prize! Proceeds for future Library projects.
March 27th (Saturday) Easter Egg Hunt, Lott Park from noon to 3:00 p.m. Thousands of eggs to hunt balloon animals, clowns, pony and train rides, games and projects. The hunt schedule starts with children in strollers at 12:10, boys and girls age 1 and 2 at 12:35, etc. in 25 minute increments up through age 10. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Daphne-Spanish Fort, City of Daphne, Baldwin County Commission and local business and individuals. Parking available adjacent to the park and at the Civic Center with a BRATS bus running from 11:30 to 3:30.
April 1st (Thursday) Brown Bag by the Bay first concert series in 2010 will be at City Hall from 11:20 to 1:30 p.m. while May Day Park. is under construction. Bring your lunch and enjoy the music and the fountain.
April 9th -11th (Friday to Sunday) Native Plant Sale, hosted by Baldwin County Master Gardeners at Week's Bay, Hwy 98.
April and May: Brown Bag by the Bay. Free lunch concerts at May Day Park. Pier 11:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Second Saturday Series at Bay Rivers Art Guild: January 9th, February 13th, March 13th, April 10th and May 8th. Each class is a hands on experience and the $30 fee includes supplies. Contact the Guild for details and sign up dates at 621-0659.
The Last Saturday of the Month: Pet Adoptions can be at the Daphne Animal shelter from 8:00 to noon.
OTDA Board meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Library. Meetings are open to members and the public. The next Board meeting will be held on December 8th in the Daphne Library.
Daphne City Council Meetings are held the first and third Mondays of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber. Work Sessions are scheduled as needed for the Thursday between the monthly Council meetings. A copy of the Council agenda is available at the Library. The Council agenda, Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Ordinance is posted on the City website at www.daphneal.com. Click on legislative news. Official Council minutes must be viewed in the City Clerk's office. Copies of the 2009 City of Daphne Budget and the Comprehensive plan from 2000 to 2020 are available in the Daphne Library.
