Membership
by Ernest Berger, Chairperson
OTDA is vital, current and growing...just like our hometown, Daphne
■ OTDA is incorporated as a non-profit membership association. Our governance and staff are volunteers. Membership dues are used to pay the operating expenses of our organization and to support community non-profit activities.
■
OTDA holds scheduled
meetings of its Board of Directors, as well as hosts general
membership meetings.
■ OTDA publishes member newsletters and also utilizes Email to distribute them to our members in a timely and cost efficient manner.
■
OTDA conducts its own telephone polls and circulates citizen petitions on
pressing
issues to be acted on by our city council.
■
OTDA prepares “white
papers” on key issues including the annual city operating budget
for use by our members and elected representatives. We act as an informed
volunteer staff for our elected representatives.
■ OTDA functions as a pro-active membership forum for businesses and schools and other large land owners to “test” or communicate facilities plans before seeking zoning variances. ODTA supports open constructive communications among its members.
